The Concept

Home swapping and exchanges are catching on in popularity. We took a look at some sites and noticed a lot are not exactly kid friendly and it is a little scary to let total strangers into your home. Brian and I started thinking about all the people we knew with kids and where they lived and thought we could do a mini- home swap with people we know and connected to and it would be even better if we did not have to travel with pack and plays, car seats, strollers and worry about the pets.

So I have a friend Lauren and she lives in San Diego. Lauren has a dog and two girls. We have two cats and two boys. We contact Lauren and make an arrangement where she and her family come and stay in our San Francisco apartment for 5 days and we go to her San Diego home. We decide before the trip that we will share cars so we don't have to travel with car seats and we will take care of each other's pets. We only make arrangements that we are comfortable with.

We are inviting you to participate and maybe plan a memorable and hopefully cheaper and therefore less stressful family vacation. If you want to participate than email us with some info (look at ours) and we will add you to the blog. If you want to contact someone because it seems like their place could lead to an interesting and comfortable family vacation than you can comment to their post. If you dont want to participate than that is okay too.
